Roasted Brussel Sprouts

This is one of the easiest side dishes to make and I make these at least once a week. If you’ve never had/made brussel sprouts, you’re missing out! While yeah, okay, I’ll admit, they do sound a little bit scary, they’re actually delicious…so make them.

What You Need:

One bag of brussel sprouts, rinsed

Olive oil/spray



Garlic Powder

What You Do:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

After rinsing and drying the brussel sprouts, cut of the ends off (the little nub) and then slice them in half, lengthwise. Place them in a ziplock bag with a tbsp of olive oil, 1/2 tsp of salt, 1/2 tsp of pepper, and 1/4 tsp of garlic powder (all of these measurements are guesstimates. I don’t measure out the seasoning for these, I just eyeball it. Feel free to do the same, but if you’re nervous you might screw it up, stick with the measurements I listed.) Close the ziplock and shake, making sure each brussel sprout gets his or her fair share of seasoning love.

Spray down a baking sheet with olive oil spray and place the brussel sprouts, face down, onto the sheet. Feel free to add more pepper at this point, top with one final (light) coat of olive oil spray, and place in the oven for about  20 – 30 minutes. You’ll know they’re done when the outsides look a little brown (see the picture below.) Remove from the oven, and enjoy!
